Document Lifecycle:The Heathrow Document Lifecycle

The Heathrow Document Lifecycle

The above diagram represents the document lifecycle, from creation to published or archived.

Note

Archived is not directly part of the life cycle and will be relevant to only some documents.

Documents held within Heathrow can exist in one of the three categories, Work in Progress (WIP), Review or Publish. Within these categories the document must have a specific status and a version to indicate exactly where it is in its lifecycle.

As a document is updated the document version number will increase. The system allows version numbers to increase by either a minor version, e.g. 1.1 to 1.2, or a major version, 1.6 to 2.0, depending on which is most appropriate.

Status

The status of a document will be one of the following:

StatusDescription
W1Work in Progress
R2For Review/Approval
P0Withdrawn
P1For Implementation
P2For Information
P3For External Approval
P4For Construction
P6Work May Proceed
P7For Tender
