Planning and Preparation

The first stage in most projects will be "Planning and Preparation". This stage is likely to consist of identifying base information that already exists within Documentum, either within a Business Case, Programme, another Project or held within ATIC.

It makes sense that we should search for, and reuse information currently contained within Documentum. You should do this by using the Search functionality, covered in the previous module, Fundamentals.

Once you have found the documentation you are looking for you will need to decide why you want the information:

• To use for Reference (Link functionality, covered in the previous module, Fundamentals), or
• To edit it (Create a new version, covered later in this module)
• ownership and permission rights will be needed for this
